Industrial Painter RPBL
Rapide-Blanc site
The Rapide-Blanc generating station is a hydroelectric development comprising a reservoir, a dam and a hydroelectric generating station, located on the Saint-Maurice River about sixty kilometres north of the town of La Tuque, in Quebec.
Built between 1930 and 1934 by the Shawinigan Water and Power Company, it is the third generating station built on this river, counting from upstream.
The station has been operated by Hydro-Québec since the nationalization of electricity in Quebec when it was acquired by this Quebec public corporation, in 1963. The station has a rated capacity of 204 megawatts.
DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK
The work involves sandblast surface preparation and painting in six turbine-generator units of the generating station. More specifically, the penstock, the scroll case, the draft tube, the turbine pit and the generator enclosure. Several related tasks are added to the 6-year mandate.
